You know. I quite enjoy baking and it is almost hard to remember a time when I didn’t and baking used to be a thing that confuses me. I thought maybe it’s now that I have better understanding of how the chemistry works and so it gets easier because I know what needs to happen. But no. It’s the recipe. I just encountered a recipe that piss me off in every way. And we won’t even go to the 1/4 cup of butter bullshit. It is the complete lack of proper info in the instructions. Example: mix egg and sugar. Then add everything else….. Ok. This everything else include cubes of butter. There was no instruction of this butter need to be cold or soft. Or cubed. I just assumed cubed. How the hell would this butter get mixed into the liquid sugar egg mix? No amount of mixing would incorporate this completely. So…. Does it not actually mix fully? WHAT SHOULD THIS LOOK LIKE! OR DOES IT NOT MATTER? I really would just love some info, any info on how this should work. Ya know, instructions that actually give you information instead of assuming you know all that is to know. *huff puff*…. Ok rant over.
