Over the past few days we have been at war with a spider that insisted on building an elaborate web (as spiders generally do) smack in the middle of our walkway between the gate and a bush. Every morning we’d open the gate and destroy the web and by the time we come home there’d be a new, bigger web that we must destroy again. I feel terrible destroying the spider’s hard work and I have been telling it to build it somewhere else but it just won’t listen. ….Until yesterday when I left home the web got flung into the other side of the gate and I saw the spider sorta panic scrambling to get to safety as I slam the gate shut. No sign of spider when I got home. Maybe it’s gone for good. Maybe! This morning I saw it again. Built a new web in the recess of the bush, quite hidden. Moral of the story: we can live in peace if you stay out of my way. 😀
