I just recently read this book because I like YA books and I enjoyed it a lot because the story was so simple, just about discovery and internal journey etc. When I saw a movie is coming out soon with Jeff Bridges at the giver I was excited and thought oh that might be cool. After watching the trailer however I can see where Hollywood is taking it with evil elders and boy must save the world and kiss the girl …. Ya no amount of Jeff Bridges will lure me into the cinema. I am just terribly disappointed.
