I sometimes get wrong numbers on the few occasions that I pick up my phone. And they’d go 喂？ in response to me saying hello. I’d say yes? Or hello back cuz I have no idea what they want and they will keep on 喂 in response before deciding they got the wrong number. It is obviously someone is there picking up the phone, stop the 喂ing and just tell me who you want! That’s how phone work! If you got the wrong number and someone doesn’t speak chinese pick up no amount of 喂ing will magically make them speak chinese back!
