One of the running joke Luke and I had early on in our relationship is that he’d ask me for my Chinese name, and I’d say no, you can’t have my “true name”. I discovered her books later probably than others, and I have to confess I have only read the Earthsea books (cuz I like fantasy), but “Tehanu” showed me things I have never considered. I remember reading about her criticism of the mini TV series as well as the Anime movie on Earthsea and how she was unhappy with all of those adaptations because we.. whitewashing, also all the cliche those adaptations ended up in them. She made me think about a lot of things that I have never thought of before. …. am gonna go find all her books and read them now.
